Nowadays, you can find a wide range of documentaries out there, covering every aspect of veganism. If you’re new to the vegan lifestyle, though, it can be a bit overwhelming. I thought I’d share my favorite educational films here in case some of you may find that helpful ^^
So, if you’re looking for information, inspiration or motivation, the following four documentaries are definitely a great point to start!
Below I’ve also listed some Youtube videos that are of great informative value + a few more documentaries 🙂
Forks Over Knives:
The feature film Forks Over Knives examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the degenerative diseases that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting animal-based and processed foods.
Cowspiracy – The Sustainability Secret:
Cowspiracy explores the impact of animal agriculture on the environment and investigates the policies of environmental organizations on this issue. The documentary follows the journey of an aspiring environmentalist, as he seeks to find the real solution to the most pressing environmental issues and true path to sustainability.
Earthlings is about humankind’s total dependence on animals for economic purposes, presented in five chapters: pets, food, clothing, entertainment and scientific research. The film is narrated by Joaquin Phoenix.
What The Health:
What the Health is the follow-up film from the creators of the documentary Cowspiracy. The film exposes the collusion and corruption in government and big business that is costing trillions of healthcare dollars, and keeping people sick.

MORE THOUGHT-PROVOKING DOCUMENTARIES:
Blackfish tells the story of Tilikum, a performing killer whale that killed several people while in captivity. Along the way, director-producer Gabriela Cowperthwaite compiles shocking footage and emotional interviews to explore the creature’s extraordinary nature, the species’ cruel treatment in captivity, the lives and losses of the trainers and the pressures brought to bear by the multi-billion dollar sea-park industry.
An Inconvenient Truth:
The documentary film An Inconvenient Truth is about former United States Vice President Al Gore’s campaign to educate citizens about global warming via a comprehensive slide show that, by his own estimate made in the film, he has given more than a thousand times.
An Inconvenient Sequel – Truth To Power:
This follow-up to An Inconvenient Truth shows just how close we are to a real energy revolution. Vice President Al Gore continues his tireless fight traveling around the world training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy.
Before The Flood:
Before the Flood features Leonardo DiCaprio on a journey as a United Nations Messenger of Peace, traveling to five continents and the Arctic to witness climate change firsthand. He goes on expeditions with scientists uncovering the reality of climate change and meets with political leaders fighting against inaction.
